After surgery, she had 5 tubes: atrial connector, ventricle connector, pacemaker, and 2 chest drains. This morning the atrial connector was removed. Kevin said that even if it was one tube removal a day, it would be cause for celebration.
On a rather less serious note.... When the inhalation therapist put the vibrator on her back, Mary or Kevin said, "She loves it!" The inhalation therapist (a he) said, "All the ladies love it." Mary nearly choked. She said that he didn't even seem to know what he had just said. Well, there you have it, the answer to what women want. Don't say you didn't know.
Several people have asked how she got her nickname, Miz Hot Ta' Molly. Here is the story. On Wednesday or Thursday last week, when we were all numb and exhausted, Uncle Peter, Aunt Lori, Aunt Sarah, and Kevin (I think that is the correct roster) were out shopping for changes of clothes, vitamins, and the correct pacifier, they decided to get a beer. Slouching over the table, Aunt Sarah slurred, "To Molly," and raised her glass. The three others, also slouching, heard, "Tamale."
As told to me, this is how the conversation went...
"To Molly."
"Tamale?"
"To Molly."
"Tamale?"
"Tamale? No, TO Molly."
"Tamale?" .... and on it went until Sarah clearly said, "TO MOLLY!" And, amidst a much need laugh fest, Ta' Molly got her nickname.
When Kevin or Mary let me know about the extubation (and if I am not knee deep in a game of "Connect Four" with Noah and Nicholaus), I will get another update out today. Take care all and take a moment to be grateful for the good things in life. Dianne
Get Well Soon, Molly

- Corvallis has transported itself to Palo Alto, so many good thoughts are zinging their way down I-5. I'm so glad she's doing so well. That's a huge mall, for sure, but last time I was there, I ate at Sweet Tomato (I think that's the name) restaurant that was cheap and good - all you can eat. I sent the rabbit joke to my family - too funny. Carol M
- It is great to get the updates on Miz Molly's progress. Here is hoping that it continues steady and sure. My thoughts often go out to Keven and Mary, hoping that they have the strength and will to "keep it all together"; this says almost as much about them as it does about Molly. Nicholaus and Noah look like they are being well cared for by the rest of the tribe. If only they knew what was coming when their little sister isn't so little. Good Golly Miz Molly!
My very best wishes to all of you and I do hope to meet Kevin's family some day not too far in the future....
Jim Wagner, a friend of Kevin and Dianne when Kevin was in High School and earlier.- That photo of all the folks from LVNP brought tears to my eyes along with all the posts from all those people in King-Groh's lives that we haven't met - there is real healing power in all that focused love and well-wishing. I'm not surprised, though. I always find that behind really cool, centered, and grounded people are a whole bunch of other connected family members and friends who share similar values - folks you meet for the first time and feel like you've known for years.
So the real important question here is whether Tamale will play the violin or the fiddle? I think I can guess....
Cheers! Tom, Heidi, and Holden
