Day 2
June 06, 2007 at 3:30PM PDT (Thursday)
The surgeon decided the surgery will take place at Stanford Medical Center, probably on Monday, June 11. The entourage will move to Palo Alto over the weekend where Noah and Nicholaus will be learning cowboy skills with Aunt Gretchen. (Psst: Aunt Gretchen is not in on this piece of news yet, so "shhh")
Since sepsis is no longer a part of the medical scene, Miz Molly was taken off the serious antibiotics and is being weaned from the breathing tube. She will be waking up this afternoon with a "groh" appetite. She has not eaten for 48+ hours. Mary is itching to hold her and get her feeding but has to wait until the breathing tube is taken out. There will be all manner of celebration when we hear her first baby howl in three days. The weekend will give her little body a chance to recover from the emergency and the treatment. The surgeons at Stanford are considered the best in the world and the surgery has a high success rate.
Stay tuned for photos, both informative and ....um... fun.Mary and Kevin are doing fine. They thank you all for all the love and support. They appreciate the prayers, good thoughts, corny jokes, and all the wonderful people who are keeping track of Molly's progress. The web mistress will try and update on a minute by minute basis, but we all know how those promises pan out. So, look for daily reports and you won't be disappointed. If you want to post some of those corny jokes, fill out the form below. All jokes will be screened for pediatric appropriateness before being published.
Janet called me to alert me to your message. I am so sorry about baby Molly's infection. I am placing her in a sphere of protection so that anything that comes into that space will be good and healing to help her overcome the infection. Everything inside of the protective space will be for her benefit and will keep out all further negative influences. She will be nurtured in her own little cocoon of warmth and healing and will become stronger. I will think of her often as she reaches toward her life with mama and daddy and brothers and her loving grandma. I use this technique for times of stress or hazard for those I love. I will make the sphere large so that all of the family will be protected and guided by its gentle shield.... Carolyn- I sucked in a fly (era protien!) and managed to not collide with the left turning motorcycle while I was going 15 MPH on my bicycle saying loudly Hail Mary's the whole way to meet my after school student.
That night after our message of being in Sac-o-tomatoes I actually got 5 people at the tavern to 'Squeeze for Molly" letting them know that spirituality is more than formal prayers just a squeeze will do. My hand hurts. For Molly.
I love you. That's all. See you this weekend or early next week.
LOVE
